Finding Neverland BW版とツアー版の違い

来日公演見てきました。ネタバレ有りです。

まずは観劇前の予想の振り返りでBW版とツアー版の楽曲比較

BW版から消滅したと思われる曲は青色、ツアー版の新曲と思われる曲は赤色、緑色は何らかの変更があった可能性あり。

…と考えていましたが、やはり緑色は台本のシーンで曲を割ってあるだけで、BW版から変更されたというわけではなさそう。(少なくとも大変更はないと思う)

以下、ツアー版で変更された箇所

Beliveより前のシーンが楽曲込みで変更。BW版だとバリの新作のオープニング・ナイトから始まるが、ツアー版では新作は既にコケた後。
犬の犬種が違う。コストカットのための現地(日本)調達だと思うが、日本らしい犬を選んだのはファンサービス？
Beliveの最初のパートをシルビアが歌い、途中でバリが引き継ぐ。(BW版は最初からバリが歌う)
We Own the Nightが途中1コーラスカット。
All That Mattersの後、シルビアの家のシーンで子どもたちが騒いでいるシーンにWe Own the Night (Reprise)が追加されている。
2幕の頭で4兄弟が大人に変装して稽古場に潜り込もうとしていたのが、変装はなしに変更。
Finaleの前にバリの奥さんと伯爵が出て来るシーンがカット。（バリが「ちゃんと成長した大人を見つけたんだね」と声をかけるが、実は伯爵も子供っぽいことが判明し笑いを取る場面でした）
ラストのFinaleがWhen Your Feet Don’t Touch the GroundからBlieveへ変更。これにともなってバリとデュモリエ夫人のやり取りの内容も変わっている。
Finaleの最後にバリと4兄弟とデュモリエ夫人が妖精を持っていたのが、ピーター1人だけに変更
カテコでStrongerを歌う。(BW版のカテコは挨拶だけ)

他にもセリフなどで細かい変更があるようです。

大きな変更は最初と最後、これによって随分印象が変わりました。BW版に比べると明るく爽やかに、より分かりやすくというかんじでしょうか。
正直に言えば、BW版の方が好みでした。この内容でWEに持って行くのだろうか？それなないと思いたい…
元に戻せとは言わないにしても、BW版ですら批評家受けは良くなかったのにツアー版の変更によってWEで評価されると思えないんですよね。

個人的にはラストの「When Your Feet Don’t Touch the GroundからBlieveへ変更」が残念すぎる。
あの曲をデュモリエ夫人が歌うのがとても良かった。子供みたいなことばかりやっているバリのことを娘や子供たちのためにならないと考えていた彼女が変わったことが伝わってくる。
曲の後半でバリと子供たちが肩を抱き合い、少し離れたデュモリエ夫人が見守っているという図があるのですが、バリはデュモリエ夫人にも手を差し出します。5人に歩み寄るデュモリエ夫人、その後子供たち4人とバリだけでなくデュモリエ夫人の手にさえ妖精が現れるのです！
6人が新しい家族になった瞬間ですよね。最後の最後に一番泣かされましたよ。
実はこの演出は、FNを初めて見たプレビュー初日にはありませんでした。1年後に再見した時、一番感動した場面です。(キラキラは最初のインパクトが全てですから)
それをカットして妖精が現れるのはピーターだけになってしまったツアー版のラストにはどうしても納得がいかない。
来日公演の好評ぶりを見ると嬉しい半面、できればBW版で見てもらいたかったなぁという思いが募ります。

内容以外では、GMAのBlieveのパフォーマンスと比較するとアンサンブルの人数が数名減らされているようです。

来日リハの写真にオケが全員写っているなら10人、BW14から4人減。カットされたのはTb, Viola, Cello, Perc ですかね？
